Estimate of the SIRS (Skills Immigration Registration System) points and a check of the requirements for the Skilled Worker stream, the Health Authority stream and the Express Entry BC option, based on British Columbia's Program Guide.
This calculator is an educational estimate built by Imigrando. It is not from the Government of BC and does not replace a review of your case.
- A score does not guarantee an invitation. BC PNP runs draws by priority area (Care, Build, Innovate) and the minimum changes every round. In 2026 the cutoffs were between 68 and 132 points, depending on the category.
- Points and eligibility are different things. You can have 150 points and still be refused for missing a basic requirement (indeterminate offer, 2 years of experience, minimum income, licence).
- The employer is evaluated too. Physical presence in BC, 1 year in operation, minimum number of employees, recruitment and market wage. The calculator asks for the basics, but BC PNP checks all of this in the Employer Declaration.
- Occupations ineligible since 13/06/2026. NOCs 12100, 12101, 12200, 13100, 13110, 13111, 13112, 62010, 62020, 63101, 41302 and 42204 no longer receive invitations.
- Closed streams. Entry Level and Semi-Skilled (closed on 10/12/2024) and International Post-Graduate (closed on 07/01/2025) no longer accept registrations. The announced international student streams have not launched.
- Usage record. We anonymously store the fields you fill in and the result to improve the tool. No name or contact information is requested.

Detailed requirements for BC PNP Skills Immigration
What BC PNP requires from the job offer, the employer and you. All items must be met at the same time, both at registration and at application.
Job offer and employer
The basis of the Skilled Worker stream is an offer supported by a BC employer that meets its own requirements.
- TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 occupation under NOC 2021. TEER 4 and 5 have no open stream in Skills Immigration.
- Full-time (30 hours or more per week) and indeterminate, with no end date. Fixed-term contracts are accepted only for Appendix A occupations (public university professors 41200, K to 12 public system teachers 41220 and 41221, and a group of technology NOCs), lasting at least 1 year with 120 days remaining.
- Wage within the market range for the occupation in BC (WorkBC and Job Bank), not counting tips, bonuses or commissions. Annual salary is converted by dividing by 52 weeks and by the weekly hours (30 to 40).
- Employer established in BC: physical presence in the province, eligible structure (registered company, partnership, non-profit organization or public body), a business licence and at least 1 year in operation.
- Minimum number of full-time employees: 5 in the Metro Vancouver Regional District or 3 outside it, not counting the applicant.
- Proven recruitment: the position advertised through at least 2 channels for 14 days, with a justification for why a Canadian citizen or permanent resident was not hired.
- Genuine need for the position for the business, with an economic benefit to the province.
- Employer Declaration Form signed and company documents submitted with the application, within 30 days of the invitation.
- Ineligible employers: recruitment and temporary staffing agencies, immigration consulting or law firms hiring for themselves, businesses providing sexual content, and companies in which the applicant or their spouse holds or has held 10% or more ownership in the last 5 years.
- Transportation: employers of drivers need a valid National Safety Code.
- Health Authority stream: the employer must be one of the 8 public health authorities (Fraser, Interior, Island, Northern, Vancouver Coastal, Provincial Health Services, Providence Health Care or First Nations Health Authority). Physicians, nurse practitioners and midwives can apply with a letter of support from the health authority, even without an employment relationship.
- Express Entry BC: the same job offer and the same employer, but with a valid Express Entry profile (FSW, FST or CEC) and a Job Seeker Validation Code. The nomination adds 600 points to the CRS and speeds up federal processing.
Candidate requirements
What you need to prove, beyond the job offer, at registration and at application.
- 2 years of full-time experience in a TEER 0 to 3 occupation within the last 10 years. It does not need to be in the same NOC as the job offer. Part-time counts as half, and experience gained without work authorization does not count.
- Language: CLB 4 in each of the four abilities for TEER 2 to 5 occupations, with a test taken less than 2 years ago. TEER 0 and 1 waive the test, but without it you get no language points. Accepted tests: CELPIP-General, IELTS General Training, PTE Core, TEF Canada and TCF Canada.
- Occupation qualifications: a licence or certification is mandatory when the profession is regulated in BC. Examples: 73300 and 73301 (drivers) require a Canadian driver's licence, 42201 requires a diploma in the field, 33102 requires registration with the BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry, 33100 requires a licence from the College of Oral Health Professionals.
- Minimum family income (LICO 2024): 1 person $31,264 in Metro Vancouver or $26,057 in the rest of BC. 2 people $38,922 or $32,437. 3 people $47,851 or $39,878. 4 people $58,096 or $48,418. 5 people $65,892 or $54,914. 6 people $74,315 or $61,935. 7 or more $82,739 or $68,955. This counts the job offer wage plus the spouse's income in BC.
- Legal status: you cannot be without status, working without authorization, inadmissible to Canada, have a pending refugee claim or be under a removal order. Applicants outside Canada can register.
- Intent to live in BC and the ability to become economically established, shown through the job offer, the income and ties to the province.
- Only one active registration or application per person in BC PNP. A duplicate registration is refused.
- Express Entry BC: in addition to everything above, a valid Express Entry profile (FSW, FST or CEC) and a TEER 0 to 3 occupation. The profile must remain valid until the nomination.
- Health Authority stream: a health occupation (any NOC starting with 3, plus 41300, 41301 and 42201) with a full-time, indeterminate offer from a public health authority. No scoring and no draw: the application goes straight through.
- Physicians, nurse practitioners and midwives: registration (or eligibility for registration) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC or the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, and formal support from the health authority or practice group.
Process, fees and draws
How the path from registration to nomination works, with the 2026 numbers.
- Free registration in BCPNP Online with a SIRS score. The registration is valid for 12 months and can be updated whenever the facts change.
- Priority draws: Care (childcare, health, veterinary), Build (construction trades) and Innovate (tech and higher wages). BC PNP also runs general draws when allocation is available.
- Recent cutoffs: 06/08/2026 Childcare 102, Health 84, Education 68, Veterinary 72 and Construction Trades 88. 20/08/2026 Innovate (Higher Education Institutions) 132 and a wage-based draw for TEER 0 to 3 with $62 an hour or $125,000 a year. 09/07/2026 Childcare 108, Health 96, Veterinary 88 and Construction 97.
- Invitation (ITA): 30 calendar days to submit the complete application with the Employer Declaration and all documents.
- Fees: $1,750 for the nomination application (since 22/01/2026) and $500 per review request. The fee is not refunded if the application is refused.
- Processing time: about 3 months for the Skilled Worker stream. The Health Authority stream is usually faster.
- After the nomination: apply for permanent residence with IRCC (through Express Entry, if it is EEBC, or on paper), and, if needed, a work permit support letter to keep working while you wait.
- 2026 allocation: 6,254 nominations for the whole province, including the Rural and Remote Health Support Initiative (registration open from 15/06 to 31/08/2026 for NOCs 64410, 65310 and 65312 at health authorities outside Metro Vancouver).

Annual salary divided by 52 and by the weekly hours (30 to 40). $16 is worth 1 point, each extra dollar is worth 1 point, $70 or more is worth 55.
Area 1 is worth 0, Area 2 is worth 5 and Area 3 is worth 15 points.
Worth 10 points, only one bonus, and only when the job offer is outside Metro Vancouver.
Only experience in the same NOC as the job offer or in a directly related occupation, full-time. Part-time counts as half.
Basic Skilled Worker requirement. It can be in any TEER 0 to 3 occupation, not only the job offer one.
Worth 10 points. It must have been with valid work authorization.
Worth 10 points. You must hold a valid work permit.
Doctorate 27, master's 22, post-graduate or bachelor's 15, associate or post-secondary diploma 5. Education completed outside Canada needs an ECA to score.
Post-secondary education in BC is worth 8 points and in the rest of Canada is worth 6. Only one of the two.
Worth 5 points. It must match the job offer occupation and be current at the time of registration.
CELPIP-General, IELTS General Training, PTE Core, TEF Canada or TCF Canada. Mandatory for TEER 2 to 5.
Worth 10 extra points.
The score uses the lowest of the four abilities: CLB 9 or more is 30, 8 is 25, 7 is 20, 6 is 15, 5 is 10, 4 is 5.
A pending refugee claim, a removal order or inadmissibility also prevent the application.
Only one is allowed per person.
Examples: drivers 73300 and 73301, ECE 42201, health care assistant 33102, dental hygienist 33100.
Counted up to the application date.
Minimum of 5 in Metro Vancouver and 3 outside it.
The last three cannot support the application.
Counts all dependants, even those who are not moving to Canada.
Job offer wage plus the spouse's income in BC. Compared against the 2024 LICO for your area.
